To commemorate the contribution of TISS alumni on this occasion, the TISS is organising a Platinum Jubilee Alumni Meet on December 17 and 18, 2011. The Alumni Meet is an amalgamation of different academic, social and cultural events bringing together not only alumni from different batches across the years, but also give an opportunity for current students and alumni to interact and create a dialogue with each other.

The Alumni Meet begins on the 17th with Seminar on Re-thinking Social Justice: Challenges in a Globalising is being organised in the forenoon to discuss the challenges to the achievement of social justice in the context of a globalising world. Dr. Binayak Sen1 will deliver the Keynote Address at the Seminar followed by a panel discussion by invited speakers from our distinguished alumni. This is followed by Walk Down Memory in the afternoon, which is an interactive session for alumni from the forties to the noughties to share their experiences. A screening of seven films tracing the journey of TISS, and aptly called TISStory is next. The evening of December 17 sees a folk music performance by Soorvani2, an association of Kutch folk musicians.
